County Championship Round 4 – 2026

Having spent a chilly 3 days at Edgbaston I couldn’t face a tube strike while trying to get to the Oval on Day 1 of Essex’s match. Typically the weather was glorious and several Essex batters remembered how to use that thing in their hands! There were 4 matches in Division 1 and 3 in Division 2. What transpired across most of the country feels very akin to the Kookaburra rounds over the last 3 seasons with only a Duke ball in sight! This was not a round for the bowlers!
